Beach location: From the main Lefkimmi -
Corfu road, in the vicinity of Moraitika, turn onto the Aghios Matheos road. You will eventually come to an overhead gantry, signposting various beach destinations. You keep straight on here. Pass the turnings for Kanouli and Prasoudi and you will shortly see official signs for Paramonas (and unofficial ones for the Paramonas Hotel). You turn left at these to the beach.
Disabled access: Yes, Paramonas beach is vamped. Be aware that the sand is quite soft, however.
Car parking: Park on the roadside or utilise one of the spaces at the taverns. Food outlets/restaurants: Two or three tavernas and a mini-market.
Sand/pebbles/shingle: Mainly golden sand but with some pebbles in places.
Sunbeds/umbrellas: Yes.
Showers: Yes. For toilets, frequent the taverns.
Safe for children: Although there are some pebbles on the beach, beyond the waterline is sandy. It's a comparatively safe beach for younger swimmers but care should be exercised as the water gets deep quite quickly.
Watersports: No.
Main users: A mixture of "locals" and tourists.
Well cared for: Yes. However, litter collection could be improved.
Mooring for boats: No.
Next to quayside/harbour: No.
Storm drains/outlets into sea: No.
Natural shady areas: No. Paramonas beach is completely exposed.
Any other facilities: Rooms to let nearby and a mini-market. If you believe the fluorescent signs, there's even a cigarette kiosk in the middle of the olive grove somewhere!
