Gardeno Beach - Corfu island - Greece

Gardeno (Vitalades) is a picturesque fishing village, full  of green with a beautiful sandy beach and clean sea. A small natural harbor for the fishing boats  and the beautiful all green hills are a supplement to the  scenery. Not far away from the houses, there are picturesque fish taverns, restaurant-bars, mini market, telephone. The nearest villages to Gardeno beach are:
Vitalages 2km, Lefkimi 4km, Perivoli 3km and up ahead  Argirades, Petriti & Boukari.

Beach location: 1km beyond the main Kavos/Lefkimmi/Corfu intersection, follow the signposts. Located 1 km from the main Kavos to Corfu road. A surfaced, twisting road takes you through the village and drops you at Gardeno beach. Disabled access: Yes. However, the slope from the car park is quite steep and leads to deep soft sand. Car parking: Yes. Large car parks include the local football pitch!
Food outlets/restaurants:
Yes. Tavernas and beach bars are located behind Gardeno beach.
Sand/pebbles/shingle: Copper gold sand leading to open sea. Sunbeds/umbrellas: Yes.
Showers: Yes and toilets care of the tavernas and beach bars.
Safe for children: Relatively shallow, open sea with some sand spits. Strong tides, therefore supervise children. Watersports: No. Main users: Used by both local peaplo and tourists.
Well cared for: Relatively but would benefit from more effort on litter picking. Mooring for boats: No.

Natural shady areas: No. Very exposed. Any other facilities: A small "resort" is developing. Rooms, mini market etc available locally. Distance to main resorts: Kavos 10 km. Lefkimmi 5km. Corfu 40km.
