The resort at ACHARAVI has all the immediate appeal of an M6 truck stop but appearances are deceptive. The actual
Acharavi village is tucked away from the main road and comprises a quiet crescent of traditional tavernas and cafes with a 3km
sandy beach that gently shelves into the sea. Doughnut and ice cream sellers frequent the beach but are not too intrusive.

Sun loungers are cheap and plentiful. Walk 500 metres in any direction to find much better sand and a nudist beach
towards Kassiopi. It is a clear favourite with families and couples and a great relief from the disheveled mess that flanks the main highway though, as the main town in the region it does offer doctors, banks, post offices, minimarkets etc. There are good restaurants here and shops selling olivewood carvings. In the hills behind the village walkers can get on the Corfu Trail and excellent walking paths. There are the remains of Roman baths nearby and a Doric temple at Roda along the coast. A good water park (The Hydropolis) is 10 minutes walk from the village and hotels offer free use of pools if you use the bar.

Location: Acharavi beach located down sign-posted lanes from the main, northern coastal road which traverses the
resort. There are numerous access points from the lanes. It's about as far north as you can go!
Disabled access: Yes. This is a flat resort, good for wheelchair access. Car parking: Limited. Park on the roadside or in the car parks provided by tavernas. Food outlets/restaurants: A wide selection. Sand/pebbles/shingle: Golden sand, sprinkled with small pebbles. Sunbeds/umbrellas: Yes. Showers: Yes. For toilets, use the tavernas or snack bars.

Safe for children: Gentle sea which is shallow initially but gets deep quite quickly. The wind can whip up in the afternoon, however. Substantially a very suitable beach for younger swimmers. Watersports: Yes. Limited to one or two points along this lengthy beach. Main users: Tourists. Well cared for: Yes. But heavy utilisation daily by tourists leaves its mark.
Mooring for boats in Acharavi: No. Next to quayside/harbour: No. Storm drains/outlets into sea: None observed.
Natural shady areas: Some vegetation in the sand hills behind the resort but providing little in the way of cover. Any other facilities: Full resort facilities. Distance to main resorts: 0-2 km. Depending on the location of your accommodation.
